A rare early 18th century carved giltwood overmantle mirror. (c. 1725 English)

A rare early 18th century carved giltwood overmantle mirror in the early transitional rococo style. The carved wood and gilded frame is decorated with birds, shells, flower trails, foliate scrolls, imbricated relief, rockwork and a cresting shell. The borders between the three plates are stylised palm leaves.

Medium	Carved gilt wood and mirrored glass.
Condition	Original carved and gilded decoration; plates and backboards also period.
