A George II Period Mahogany Bookcase. (c. 1740 England)

This lovely George II period mahogany bookcase or display cabinet is a perfect example of fine early Georgian understated cabinet making. Very much in the manner of Giles Grendey, the well proportioned cabinet in two parts has finely carved mouldings to the cornice, astragals and door panels. Behind both the glazed and blind doors there are moveable shelves.

Medium Mahogany with glazed upper doors.
Condition The colour and patina are lovely, rich and 'untouched'.
